NYSC Batch C 2014 Mobilization Timetable, Camp Opens 4th Nov

NYSC Batch C 2014 timetable for mobilization and orientation programme is out. NYSC Camp for Batch C opens on the 4th November, 2014. All graduates of institutions that are mobilizing prospective corps members for the 2014 Batch C orientation programme should take note.
According to this timetable, printing and picking up call up letters will take place between 28th and 30th October, 2014. Yes, from Batch C 2014, NYSC prospective corps members can print their call-up letter online.

The 2014 NYSC Batch C mobilization timetable is shorter than the previous ones. This is because biometric registration will be done by prospective corps members themselves online. You can check the press release by the Management of the NYSC on the online registration

The Clement Adesuyi Haastrup Foundation (CAHF) invites applications from undergraduate students of ljesa origin for her annual scholarship award.
About:
Prince Clement Adesuyi Haastrup is the Chairman, ENL Group. An Ijesha Prince of Ilesha in Osun State, Haastrup was born in the palace of Olomu of Omuaran, Kwara State on Sunday, September 19th, 1948.

Eligibility For The CAHF Scholarship Awards

1. Applicants MUST be registered FULL-TIME undergraduate in any Nigerian Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education. The candidate should be intelligent, brilliant and in great need of financial assistance for his/her academic pursuits.
2. Applicants for the scholarship MUST have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of Second Class (Upper Division) and above or its equivalent.

How To Apply For The Clement Haastrup Adesuyi Scholarship

Application in candidates’ handwriting (which should not be more than 3 pages) clearly stating Name of Institution, Current Level, Course of Study and likely date of completion of studies must be submitted at the interview venue. The application should provide personal details such as functional e-mail address, telephone number, family name/compound in Ijesaland, economic status of parents and detailed reason why the applicant believes he or she should be considered for the award.
Application MUST be accompanied with the following:
1. Evidence of Local Government of origin obtained from applicant’s Local Government Council.
2. Letter of introduction duly signed by current Head of Department.
3. Details of last academic record from division of Exams and Records or Dean of Student Affairs.
4. Photocopy of current student identification card issued by the institution, Department or Faculty.
5. Evidence of registration for the 2013/2014 semester/academic session.
6. Newly admitted candidates should come with their letter of admission and School Certificate Result.
7. Letter of confirmation/evidence of membership of Federation of ljesa Students’ Union (FISU).
8. Letter from head of family compound in Ijesaland.
9. New Applicants are to bring with them writing materials, 2passport photographs and 2 files.

2014 FUNAAB Student Union Election Through E-Voting



 
A release by the Dean Student Affairs, Professor Y. Akegbejo-Samsons stated that the 2014 FUNAABSU elections of the Supreme Student Ruling Cabinet (SSRC) has been scheduled to hold on Thursday August 21, 2014 by the FUNAABSU Independent Electoral Committee (FUNAABSUIEC).
For the very first time in history of the University, all eligible students (voters) are required to exercise their voting right through E-Voting.
The voting exercise shall take place at the ICT Computer Laboratories, while eligible voter shall be accredited on sight and thereafter given log-in codes to complete action on the voting exercise.

MOUAU Female Undergraduate Crushed to Death by a Bus Driver

A female student identified as Miss Cynthia Okebaram of the Micheal Okpara University was on Monday crushed to death by a bus driver.

The ugly incident which happened at the main gate of the institution as reported was caused by the driver who was on high speed on the ever-busy Umuahia Ikot-Ekpene Road when he tried to overtake a trailer; Skidded off the road and hit the student who was standing close to the gate apparently with the intention of crossing the road, crushing her skull.

This attracted the wrath of other students around who wasted no time in destroying the vehicle and setting it ablaze.

However, the driver was said to have escaped unhurt to a nearby police station.

The deceased was said to have completed her Diploma in Computer Science and was processing her clearance.
